Additionally, we describe the measures we take to protect your information and provide guidance on how you can contact us regarding our privacy practices.
At Madmax Technologies, we prioritize your privacy and security. These elements are central to our mission: to safeguard users of our products and services from the risks of theft, disruption, and unauthorized access to their online information.
Madmax provides products and services directly to consumers and business customers.
This Declaration applies to the information we collect from you or your device when you download one of our apps using Android's VPNService, such as Firewall AI Android, as well as the information we gather when you install our Services on your device.
Android's VPNService (documentation) is a core component that enables applications to establish their own VPN solutions. It acts as a secure bridge for data communication, setting up a virtual network interface, managing addresses and routes, and providing a file descriptor to the application. This descriptor is key in handling data packets, facilitating the secure transfer of information between the application and a remote server through a protected tunnel.
Our Firewall Security app leverages Android's VPNService to efficiently route permitted internet traffic directly to its destination, without the need for a remote VPN server. This process operates under two scenarios:
This method allows Firewall AI to manage all internet traffic locally, eliminating the need for root access to operate this firewall application. We aim to maintain transparency by explaining these operations so that our users can understand how their data is handled and the measures we take to ensure privacy and data integrity.
The Firewall AI app uses Android's VPNService to route traffic locally, enabling on-device filtering rather than server-side filtering. We rely on Android's VPNService to ensure the following functionalities operate effectively:
For example, when Firewall AI is activated, both 'blocked' and 'allowed' internet traffic is routed to the local VPN service. Only the 'allowed' traffic is passed on to its destination, with no traffic being sent to a remote VPN server. This approach allows us to manage all internet traffic locally without requiring root access to establish the firewall application.
We do NOT collect or share any personal data, nor do we collect or share the domains accessed by the Firewall AI app.
Furthermore, we do NOT gather any anonymized URLs or domains visited through your web browser apps.
We utilize third-party services, such as Google Play Services and Firebase Crashlytics, to collect and analyze diagnostic information, which is crucial for maintaining app stability and efficiently resolving issues. This data includes:
